Bargain Haul: Incredible Books + Travel Magazine

Hello everyone! I’m writing today to blog about the books I have purchased the past few months. This is a collective haul, I didn’t get this in one day. I’m currently building my own library and a great way to start is to buy books in affordable prizes. I collect horror, fiction, fantasy, mystery and books in series such as Chronicles in Narnia and Nancy Drew. Recently, I have been shopping on BOOKSALE because they have the most affordable books in the country as of now. You can buy unused hard-bound books for Php 15 and up.  They also sell magazines, paperbacks, used books, you name it. I also shopped a couple of books from National Book Store, one was on sale the other was bought in its regular price.

I won’t be reviewing the books on this post. I will do a separate posts for each of the books.

Books from BOOKSALE:

Cooking Thin with Chef Kathleen by Kathleen Daelmans

I paid Php 30 for this book. A great steal!

Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne

Translation by William Butcher

I pain Php 70 for this wonderful piece. I recommend this version because it’s more precise and understandable and comprehensive . 🙂

Harry’s Game by Gerald Seymour

I paid Php 15 for this book. 🙂

Folly by Laura R. King

This book was sold at Php 40.  I admit, I got bored the moment I started reading this. I’m not finished though.

Purchases from National Book Store:

Sidetrip Magazine for Php 100.

Black Monday by Bob Reiss

This was sold less than Php 200. I’m loving this so far.

The Divide Comedy – Inferno by Dante Alighieri

A Verse Translation by Allen Mandelbaum

This was sold for Php 225 (not on sale). The moment I saw I almost freaked out because I have been dying to own The Divine Comedy Books. I recommend this version because it has understandable translation compared to others. I’ll read this soon.

That’s it for my haul. I’m happy with my purchases. Do you collect books too? What are your recommendations? Comment below so I would know your answer/s.

I offer freebies every Friday. Subscribe to this blog if you want to stay updated. 🙂

Talk to you soon. Have a nice day! 😉

Me with my aunt during the Baccalaureate Program.
